Color management : does it matter for the final output?
Posted by Baptiste Cavallo on April 3, 2015 at 2:24 pmHi there,
I was wondering if color management mattered for the final output?
Or is it just so programs like AE, Premiere etc know how to interprete files?

April 3, 2015 at 4:32 pmTechnically there is no “color profile” embedded in your file: it very much depends on your output codec. Some of them might have a flag to specify which color space you’ve been working in. Unfortunately there is no standards used between programs/players… so it is up to you to make sure you work in the intended color space and choose the right output codec that will allow you to keep the same color space.
