    Hey,
I know there’s a lot of new features, here’s something I’ve been hoping for for a long time:

We would love to use color finesse, but can’t see it’s output in our NTSC Monitor (which is a must for true color correction). We use a bluefish 444 capture card, which outputs everything else to the monitor, but since cf opens as a separate program ui, it doesn’t output that. This seems to be true for other cards, such as the decklink as well. We are wondering whether this changes with v7, or if someone has another suggestion…Not being able to see it on the NTSC monitor, renders it useless…

    thanks,
    Mike Goldberg

I don’t know about AE 7, but you can do this with AE 6.5. The problem is that After Effects is grabbing the output device for itself and not letting go – so you need to disable it before going into Color Finesse (as well as having the appropriate preferences set in CF). The keystoke to toggle AE’s video output is: Command + / on the numeric keypad (mac) or Ctrl + / on the numeric keypad (windows).

So just disable AE video preview before launching the Color Finesse interface, kind of a pain, but it should work.

    Hope this helps,
    -Kurt

    Hey Curt,
That doesn’t seem to work. My preferences show video preview already set to none…The way the bluefish works, is it just automatically outputs everything in the comp window to the broadcast monitor. There are no settings for this or options to select this in the CF preferences. This seems to be the problem. I was hoping in V7 that the cf interface would be contained within the AE UI, therefore it would automatically be displayed to the bm. However, I guess I’ll just have to wait and hope…..
    thanks though,
    MG
