    Hi,
I know we’ve discussed this, I was hoping maybe someone has come up with an answer:

We have a bluefish 444 capture card, which afaik works the same as the decklink card which many people have. We cannot get preview to the NTSC monitor when using Color Finesse. It really makes this great plug in useless. We were hoping there might be some way to identify the card as the second monitor in the CF preferences (right now the only thing that shows up is the second computer monitor – this does no good). Any tricks found out?

The Color Finesse plug-in for AE won’t work with External Monitors in AE. (If you go to Synthetic Aperature’s forum on Creative Cow you can see this question gets asked atleast once a week….) I think version 2.0 (which has been “Shipping Soon” since last year’s NAB) should change this, but I’m not sure. Search through the posts there for more info.

Once you close the Color Finesse interface, it should update through AE on your monitor, but I agree, not the best.

    Thanks Matt,
yeah, it does update after I leave the cf ui, but that’s pretty useless for color correction..I still can’t understand why adobe has never built cc into the app. that’s a glaring weakness. CF is great, but I can’t use it…..ok anyway, thanks.

CF plug-in works fine with external monitors in AE with the Decklink card. You just have to turn of preview to external monitor in AE. If AE is using the external monitor it won’t let CF use it. If AE is not using the external monitor CF should use it just fine. I don’t know about Bluefish cards though.
