If anyone has seen Aharon Rabinowitz’s demo reel ( https://www.allbetsareoff.com/video/Demo4Web.mov ) if you fast foward to a little bit before the Middle of the video there is a scene which states “What is Life” with a 3d rendered tree in the background. At the 2nd part of that scene there is a another tree, what I was wondering is in that scene how there are 2 differnt the colors. Pink on the top then a goldish green on the bottom. Does anyone have any idea how to create that color effect? its sorta like a gradient but im not sure. >< Been trying toget this effect for days now but no luck :( . My email is tegakri@msn.com or just post here. Thanks in advance

It looks like a blend mode is being applied to the clip.

Create a solid, apply a gradient to the solid using the two colors you wish as the start and end colors.

Apply different blend modes and see how they effect your image.

If you have more than one layer which you want effected, then create an Adjustment Layer above all the layers you want the transfer mode to effect and apply the mode to the Adjustment Layer.

    Best regards,

Sorry i never saw this question.

It was very easy to do. And it wasn;t done with After Effects – though it could be.

Alan Lorence of wondertouch (particleIllusion) asked me to create a video where i used particles to color my image, so, I created a big ornage particle, and a big pink one, and made them live for a long time, and they sat on top of my black and white footage. The same for a green and blue one.

You can easily do this in AE by creating a solid the color you want to overlay your scene by using the tranmsfer mode “color” or “hue” (hue will probably look better)
