Color Corrector (Secondary) Problem
Posted by Raj Verma on August 12, 2018 at 9:25 pmSo I’ve been editing with Vegas 14 for a while and I’ve encountered this problem before. When I go to add Color Corrector (Secondary) to my clip, I want to change the color of a specific part of my clip. When I click “Select Effect Range” I choose the color I want to change, and I change the rotate hue value, yet nothing happens. I can rotate the hue of the entire clip without selecting an effect range, but it doesn’t work when I select an effect range.
Added plugin to clip:
Rotate hue works for changing color of entire clip:
I selected the yellow hair as my effect range:
Rotated hue, nothing happens:

Hmm… I’ve just checked with mine and there isn’t an issue. Are you absolutely sure/certain you are dealing with the same Event and it’s Second CC? Meaning are you looking elsewhere? I can’t determine your cursor is over the same Event. Just check please? Also. do try clicking the MASK option to verify you’re getting the correct areas for changing.
In any event, it’s working here. What VP14 Build have got installed?

August 15, 2018 at 5:11 amI’ve made sure mask is checked, even though I have not masked anything in my clip, and yes I am dealing with the same clip. I have got Vegas Pro 14 64 bit installed. What did you mean by Second CC? Sorry kinda new to editing.

Understood.
[Raj Verma] “What did you mean by Second CC?”
Apologies, my shorthand for Color Corrector (Secondary).

You could upload that frame and see if I can repro your issue. I’m understanding you just wish to change the colour of the Hair and nothing else? Correct? However when you ANYTHING the whole Event is affected? Correct?

August 15, 2018 at 12:31 pmYes correct, the entire color of the clip changes but not when I select an effect range. How would I go about uploading a frame?

1) Prepare The Still from the Vegas Timeline and save as either a PNG or JPG to your PC Desktop.
2) Create a Reply here.
3) Click on the Upload Graphic Icon on the Bar above the Reply Window and navigate to that Graphic and Select it for upload and UPLOAD.
4) Copy the code and paste it into your Reply.
Done!

August 15, 2018 at 11:17 pmOk I can do that, but how will that help you determine a solution?

There is a multitude of manipulations in the 2nd CC. Having already spent time in trying to come up with a “solution”, I’ve often found that working with a sample helps to target a method and get there faster and more accurately than writing time consuming and possibly getting it wrong. Simple really.
