    hello!
a few days ago i’ve tested my new camera…i’ve got some pretty nice shots so i decided to make them look a little bit better.
    here is what i’ve got:
    before:
    home.arcor.de/becker.fam/colorcorrectionbefore.avi
    after:
    home.arcor.de/becker.fam/colorcorrection.avi
(both videos are compressed with the divx-codec)

now i have a problem: the color correction works only with my snow-videos (because they have a lot of blue)….but if i want to do the color correction effect at other videos it doesn’t look the same….it hasn’t the same look.
my question is…what can i do to reach the same “look” for different videos (different light-conditions and so on)…
    thanks

Color correction can help, but the real problem here is that you shot Daylight (outdoor 5600 K light) with your camera set on the Tungsten (indoor 3200 K light) setting. If you switch your white balance for either daylight or tungsten you won’t have either really blue or really orange looking images.

Like the guys said, learn to shoot correctly balanced first, then it’s easier to achieve a “look” in color correction from shot to shot. So you’re not making up for where the camera was setup unbalanced.

Make sure that in both clips you use the plugins white adjustments to something you know is white in both shots – that should get you close. If you have a 3way color correcting plugin then do the same to areas in both clips that you know are supposed to be black.

i know this is a bad example and i didn’t use the white balance…but i chose it to schow you what i mean…and i just wanted to know if this is possible or not…i’ve already thought about a plugin which changes the white of the second video into a the white of the first video…(and the other colors) but i don’t know what plugin i should take…
    thx

Your colors will match very well if you white balance your shots. You should be doing as much in production to avoid having to fix it in post-production. If you white balance under various light sources, someone’s blue shirt is going to be the same hue of blue no matter where you film them.
