Color Correction SVP 11
When I first stumbled across “Black Magic Design DaVinci Resolve” I was very impressed. It is so powerful and elegant(and free for the Lite version. However, it won’t import my AVCHD codec without transcoding, and then rendering into Mpeg4 in Davinci, to get the clips into Sony Vegas, is even more work, and expense. And I think all this trancoding can help either. So, I have pretty much abandoned using Davinci and am back to SVP11. I took a hard look at the tools availvable in SVP11 and am now looking at some of the color correcting webinars. One feature that I really need is the ability to qualify. DaVinci is very powerful in this respect. For example, one problem I have is that the talents hair is badly blown out and has in some spots turned to an ugly yellow. In Davinci I can qualify(ie, limit the area to adjust) so I can then use other tools to just adjust the blue level and remove the yellow. What is the method of qualifying in Sony Vegas and as an example what would be the approach to remove the yellow in the blown out hair?
Thanks for the help,
Gary
