    Hello,

I have just completed editing a 38 minute documentary in Adobe Premiere Pro Cs3. The time has come to colour correct the project – is it best to do this process within PREMIERE PRO or should i import the project into AFTER EFFCTS ?

I have been advised that after effects can do a better job but if this is so whats the best way to export it out of premiere into after effects without losing any quality ??

The project was shot on 1080HD 50i Sony Z1 and the final output is to be put on DVD possibly blue ray seeing it was shot on 1080.

    Any help / suggestions ?

Well…AE has some nice capabilities, but PPro is not without color correction capabilities.

It comes down to understanding what you want to do to the footage. I use levels in PPro all the time for primary color correction.

AE would enable you to define areas where you could add some confined are corrections with some masks if you need to enhance the light on your leading lady’s face only for instance…
