What program or plug-in are you planning to use for color correction? IN addition to the previous suggestion, there are also some pretty good “application specific” books out there.

i woudl use avid to color correct or color finess which i have installed but never used. anyone else use it and recommed it over avid?

i’m really looking for theory books because theory applies to all applications.

I have “Video Color Correction for Nonlinear Editors: A Step-By-Step Guide” by Stuart Blake Jones. It covers both Avid and Color Finesse specifically with step by step examples and a CD-Rom with tutorial files. It covers the “why” as much as the “how” and I would highly recommend it.

I have both the Blake Jones book as well as the CMP book by Hullfish and someone else…the CMP book is quite a bit better in my opinion (and I’m a Focal author…)

The book that has communicated the most about the nuts and bolts underneath color correction to me is actually a book on “Photoshop Color Correction”…titled something very close to that.
