I just completed my trailer in which all color appeared balanced, then I played my video on my low end computer, and all of the color was washed out. Everyone looked pale. I went back to my file to remove any corrections just to see if there were any change, and some people still looked washed out, while others looked perfect. Does anyone know how to color correct where both high end and low end computers meet half way?

Sorry, there is no such thing. Low end computers, as you put it,
or systems that’s not color balanced properly, will make the best
color corrected video seems washed out or inaccurate.

Thanks Steve. That’s refreshing to hear. I color corrected on a high end and watched it on my labtop and was appalled. There was literally no color definition. Everyone looked gray. Thank you so much for clarifying. BTW. My laptop is not exactly low end, but it’s much lower than the high end desktop. Would you recommend color correcting on a lower end computer instead of a very high end one?

Where is your final product going to be displayed? on a pc monitor or tv? If it’s the latter I would preview on a tv to see how that looks first, rather than go making changes that may not display correctly. Years ago I used a cheap minidv camcorder with Vcr function as a ‘pass through’ to my tv. I used the firewire output from my pc and set my camcorder to vcr/record and took that video out and plugged into my tv’s video input and was able to preview my timeline.
