Color correcting a specific color in a shot
Posted by Jennifer on June 27, 2005 at 11:11 amHelp… I am trying to change the color of a red tennis racquet in a shot. How do I go about color correcting it? Ive tried the change color function but it doesn’t seem to be working. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks!

June 27, 2005 at 11:31 amTry setting the effect’s “match colors” parameter to “using hue”, not “using RGB”.

June 27, 2005 at 11:33 amuse either a color key…or some sort of keyer…get an alpha for that color of red…then clean it up for other reds with a garbage mask.
Then apply that clip over the original apply as a track matte.
then use hue/saturation, tint, etc. or any other effects to get to the proper color.
then now apply this over top of the original.Probly not the best way to put it…but i’m at work right now…can’t give total step by step.

June 27, 2005 at 1:29 pmEffect > Image control > Change To Color. Select the color you want to change, and pick the new color. make sure to tell the effect to use all 3 color parameters (Hue, saturation, Lightness) from the pull down.
If your footage has other areas with the same coloir, you may need to duplicate the layer, and create a rough junk matte matte (a losse animated mask) around the racket.
