When I log and transfer P2 footage it’s luma and chroma changes once it’s transferred. Below is a still grab from my desktop. The image on the left is from the Log and Transfer window where as the image on the right is from the Viewer. Notice how the image got more saturation and darker. Is there some setting that I need to adjust?

Neither one of those screens should be used to judge quality…least of all the Log and Transfer window. It is just there to show you the image, not the color correct image.

Only judge the quality of your image on an external broadcast HD monitor.

That being said…no luma shift will occur, as nothing is being done to the image other than putting a QT wrapper on it so FCP can deal with it.

    Shane,
Thanks for the insight. Trust me, I’d never color correct off of my computer screens or with out my scopes.
Long story short…one of our camera guys says that everything looks great on his waveform monitor and vectorscope. I bring it into FCS 2 and a lot of the footage is not that great. I’m trying to figure if it’s on his end or mine. Thanks for the help.

Yup…this is why you are gonna need an HD monitor and HD card to judge this.

    Good luck.
