After I apply a mask then collapse transformation is all in the wrong spot, Why? is these a precomposing issue? …man collapse trans’ and 3d space in AE is a pain in the ass

Make sure the layers inside the precomp are also 3D. Also keep in mind that collapsing transformations switches the render order, what is usually Masks, Effects, Transform properties becomes Masks, Transform Properties, effects.

It seems like everything is switched to 3D. It gets a little rough going when I have so many comps, and nested comps. Then I start second quessing and making everything 3d and collapsed etc. Would the render order change effect masks, since it is first anyways? Do you have any advice for a more efficient workflow?…specifically, I quess when working with 3d space.

thank you so much for your help

Why are you collapsing the layer that you are applying the mask to? Maybe if you can tell us a little more about what it is you are trying to do…

Transform properties are Position, Scale, Rotation, Opacity and Anchor Point
