Collapse Bounding Box?
Using AE CC 2014. I have an imported illustrator file I’m working on with lots of parts that need to be moved about. Problem is, when I select a part, the bounding box around it is huge instead of being the size of the part. Is there anyway to collapse the bounding box down to just encompass the part it’s associated with? In the image below, I have just the character’s forearm selected, but the box is the full 1920×1080. What the hell???

Not sure what you can do now, but when you import your illustrator document, import it as a composition so it comes in as layers(you will need to layer everything in AI). Then during the import you will need to select for “Footage Dimensions” > Layer Size.
