    Hello,
I will be putting two sets of hyperlinks to stream from our server of some online videos. They need to be viewable on pc/mac, iphone/android, ipad/tablets. I will be exporting out of FCP and have mpeg streamclip for further file conversion.

On the mac side I will use a h.264 codec with a Quicktime wrapper.
On the pc side I will use a h.264 codec with a mpeg-4 wrapper.

Do these two codec/wrapper streams seem like they would cover the vast pc/mac market or am I missing something in plain sight?

    Thanks.

    H.264 .mp4
Can be used in Flash, Silverlight, Quicktime, Windows Media Player 12, HTML5 (those that play H.264).
Earlier version of WMP would need WMV.

From what I gather h264 in an .mov file works but isn’t technically supported

[Peter dewit] “From what I gather h264 in an .mov file works but isn’t technically supported”

That’s an incomplete question. Supported for what?
Flash and Silverlight are extension agnostic. H.264 .mov will work in both as well as Quicktime. It’ll work on iOS devices as well as long as one follows the Profile/Level limitations of the the device.
