Codec quirks making exports difficult
Ive been in the process of converting my PRORES HQ footage over into a non proprietary format, and it was suggested that i use the animation codec to do so, but i noticed that the result was always different than my source and found that where my source had no gamma or alpha values listed, animation had given it the values of gamma source, and alpha straight. I found that visually the uncompressed 8-bit was identical, yet i dont have a large enough screen to tell if i took a resolution hit in doing so. The bitrate of uncompressed was 20mb/s, and the bitrate of animation was 30/mbs, as compared to my source footage of 8mb/s. Should i go with what looks visually identical or will the difference of 10mb/s produce a noticable hit in resolution?
