I’m editing a piece in FCP in ProRes at 720p24. And I’m creating a short animation in AE for that piece. I don’t see any ProRes options in After Effects, when creating a new composition. Am I missing something? Or do I need to create the animation in a different codec than the target codec in FCP?
    Thanks!

You don’t set an output codec when you create a composition, but rather when you render. The codec options are listed inside the Output Module > Format Options > Compression type:
