    Hello,
I usually use different programs together with Vegas.. for compositing mostly combustion. Normaly I use PAL DV video format in every case (e.g. in compositing – as there is not too much data lose by using this format). After compositing I load the improved videos to vegas again. By getting ready with the project I mostly render it to PAL DV again and compress the whole video with discreet’s cleaner XL to DVD, SVCD or whatever.. the problem is that the files composited and rendered in combustion (using the same PAL DV codec) looks a bit shaky. They look not so perfect!
I got the same result if I re-render these shaky videos in vegas together with the non-composited videos..
Could a new codec be the solution? Can anyone help me by suggesting, which codec results the best quality to render with?
Any help would be really appreciated..
    Best,
    Szabolcs

The usual suggestion is to send your compositing app an uncompressed avi. This helps avoid the degradation that you’re noticing.
