Whenever I try to import my HD footage from the Canon XH A1, the Final Cut screen goes black (the sound works) and I get the following message: “Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding card.”

It seems to be a Quicktime problem, as I also get a black screen with sound when I just try to open the movie in Quicktime. I’ve updated both Quicktime and my system, trashed preferences, and downloaded the AJA Macintosh QuickTime™ Codec v4.0, but none of this solved the problem.

Here’s the format/Command I to Get Info. of the vid:
    29.97 fps
    1440 x 1080 HD
    16- bit Integer
    48.0 KHz

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
