I am attempting to export a self contained quicktime file of a 90 min feature film for a friend of mine. The frame rate is 23.98. Pixel Aspect Ratio is 1280×1080. The Quicktime Video settings for some odd reason are 1080p30 which I find odd because the sequence settings are 23.98. I keep getting two error messages. One is OUT OF SPACE which is impossible because I have over a TeraByte of space. Than it is followed by this message. CODEC NOT FOUND. YOU MAY BE USING A COMPRESSION TYPE WITHOUT THE CORRESPONDING HARDWARE CARD. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Have any stills in the timeline? are they in the CMYK Color Space rather than RGB? That’s what is up when I get that message. And, any of these stills over 4000 pixels?

FCP will show those odd error messages when it runs out of memory.
The work around is to close FCP and then restart and do your export immediately.

I don’t know why it can’t just say “out of memory” rather than “codec error” or “out of disc space” or even worse “general error”.

I wonder what all the new workarounds are going to be with the “X factor”
