    good day

im working on a mac pro quad core intel xeon tower. running 10.6.8
having issues with fcp 7. my files are on an external drive. fcp 7 worked fine on friday, i didnt do anything different now.

originally only the viewer was green. some of the video would give me an error message. codec could not be opened with a red back ground, or
codec not found, you maybe using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card. along with unrendered files

another member on the forum had similar issues.
it was recommended to clear the thumbnail cache and recently rendered files. the next step up would be to un and re-install fcp 7.

unfortunately those steps didnt rectify the issue.
now the canvas is green and flickers between blue, red and other colors. still have same error message.

    audio is fine.

when i opened up the drive on a laptop running 10.7, i didnt have issues with fcp 7 or the files.

how can i fix this issue on my tower?
    thank you

    africa is the future!

I am too facing same problem. I rectified this after reinstalling OS. Tried trashing QT codec, copying it from other same model mac pro. Installing QT again but in vain.
