Codec not Found and Can’t Reinstall
I saw this warning today and it looks like the system I’m working on had a ground up install of Snow Leopard and an upgrade install of FCS 2009. So, there are no ProRes codecs installed on this machine. I can’t render a thing in the timeline because of this.
I’ve tried everything I know to reinstall, including trashing prefs, chuckin’ receipts, running FCS remover and I still get the “Skip” instruction no matter what I try.
Any suggestions?

I didn’t. You know me….LOL
It’s my client’s machine.
Strange that it keeps placing a FCS System ID as soon as I enter the serial numbers. So FCP upgrade is still grayed out.On with the show. I am going to just edit the material on my MBP for now. I’ll let the clients deal with the issue.

Sounds like your permissions are bunked or your boot drive is not formatted. Might want to try crating another admin use and install again.
