Sorry I’m a bit late..

That is just for capture and print to tape presets.
Uncompress is 720×486 (and Lower-first and NTSC pixels) if you go to print to DigiBeta, Out of that, you can use the size, field order and pixels size that you decide.
In this case that Greg wants to make a DVD (720×480) from EX-1 footage (1920×1080) it doesn’t makes much sense to work in a 720×486 sequence when you can do it directly in 720×480. One resize is better than two.
It would be possible even to work in a Uncompress 720×480 “Upper-first” (you skip the “Shift-fields’ to the EX-1 footage). You will get an “Upper-first” QT movie and an “Upper-first” MPG-2 that will works perfect.
