Hey Everybody. I’ve have a AJA Kona RGB 10bit Log 1080p project that I need to convert to the Apple Uncompressed 10-bit codec for output to HDCAM. When I export the project through Compressor from FCP, the QT file comes back with a 6% luma bump. My blacks are now 6% and my highlights are 106%. Why doesn’t this surprise me? A solution would be great. A decent workaround is what I’m after. There’s no Luma Shift filter that I know of. Other ways involve adjusting blacks, mids and whites. I’m afraid it’s gonna screw with the careful color work that we did in the past. Any suggestions?

more info. this doesn’t happen when I Media Manage the codec change. and it doesn’t happen when I do the QuickTIme Export from FCP. But it keeps happening with Compressor. Oh, I’m using FCP 5.14.

There is a color space problem. yuv colorspace has room for super whites and blacks whereas rgb only handles what you need. check your seq settings and process whites as white not super white. you can change the gamma in your quick time within FCP in item properties..
