Codec Issue
Hi guys,
Quick question: I produced a short series of podcasts for an art museum, and as part of the deal they require the raw footage to edit with themselves at a later date. It is currently in DVCPRO HD 1080i50 format, as it was recorded, but they need it to open in iMovie. Can they install a codec to allow this, and if so where from, or will I have to re-encode it as uncompressed?

iMovie only works in DV and HDV to my knowledge. Quite honestly this is their issue and not yours. I would supply all the raw footage and let them know that this codec is not able to be used in iMovie.
If they wish to edit it at a later date this will require a purchase of Final Cut Pro on their end.

It seems that this haven’t change. But if you have iMovie you could test it.
The problem of iMovie is that what ever thing iMovie can ingest, it needs to re-compress it as his native sequence format.Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
