Codec help: FCP to AE on PC
As I experiment more & more with HDR and the 32 bit workspace, what is the best codec to use to retain the highest image quality in going from Final Cut 6 to AE 7 & 8 on a PC? Is there a way yet to utilize the 10-bit uncompressed codec in AE on the PC?

Blackmagic 10-bit would work nicely, as would Sheer Codec. Try to stay in 10-bit, which will prevent loss throughout the various stages.
As was mentioned, you should definitely look into Automatic Duck AE Import. It allows you to pull your entire FCP edit into After Effects, reconstructing all your edits, fades etc. and references the original source media like FCP so you don’t have to render out.
