  • Codec for maximum project resolution

Hello. I found some information that the Premiere can handle resolutions up to 10,240×8,192. But can´t find the right codec to export it, has H264 goes up just to 4096.

Can anybody help me find the right codec?

What exactly are you doing with that insane resolution?

It´s not exactly in that insane resolution but i would like to know in case one day I need it.

I work in a Digital Signage company and my next project is an 6×1 videowall (7680×720). I cannot isolate screen by screen because I need interaction between screens and my SAAS Software doesn´t synchronize that well (maximum good sync 4096×768)

    Thanks

That depends completely on what formats the videowall stuff can run.

It will be played in Windows (not in an Android Player)

I don’t know of anything that would go to that resolution in a motion file. You would have to export a frame sequence.

In any case, I find it hard to believe you would have a computer system that was capable of playing it back anyway.

What I’ve done before is take the individual screen sizes and make a sequence for each…then nest them into another sequence and arrange them the way the wall will be configured by scaling them down, etc.

When all the component timelines are sync’d up…you export a clip for each screen from the individual timelines.

…I’ve done this before for a wall of iPods (sticky business…I don’t recommend it).

Also there’s no way that resolution would look good on those bitrates.

This is going to be a problem for you with high-res projects.

If you cannot accurately sync multiple independent outputs (and there are systems out there than can do this well), then you have send a single output and split and scale it at (or right beore) the displays. This will cost you resolution.
