  Codec for DV widescreen?

  I’ve seen a post in the Sony Vegas Forum which says you’re recommending the Panasonic DV codec for use when PI mixes with SD DV widescreen. I’ve also seen posts that state that the Panasonic codec degrades the image over rendering episodes.

  I’ve been using the Sony Vegas codec (proprietary), Huffy, and MainConcept DV. Now I’m beginning to work HD out of a HVR-Z1U, using intermediate SD codecs for editing and then rendering back out the HD stuff to learn what I’m doing. However, I’m still outputting SD DVDs-but largely 16×9 widescreen.

  What’s up with the Panasonic codec and 16×9? I’d really prefer the MainConcept.
