Activity Forums Compression Techniques Codec Error

    Hey guys i just got a clip from a potential client, and is some basic ovies that they want me to tweak, do some animations etx… but when i open is white, obvious codec missing, but never heard of this one; wheni open in quicktime (the file is an AVI) under format it says

    720×480, millions, 16-bit integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000 khz

    what is ithis, thanks.

    Most likely, it is an 8bit YUV uncompressed movie in either YUY2 or UYVY format. The only mac application that I know of to support this is Compression Master (as of 4.0.1 due to my requests). You could use CM to convert it to another format that you can work with, or you can get the client to provide you with an RGB or v210 (10bit) AVI.
