    Is there a plug-in for AE that can do realistic cloth reveals, i.e. take a layer or pre-comp and have it pull away like a tablecloth with billows and folds etc to reveal another layer or comp below?

    Thanks for any help.

    Yes. They haven’t gotten most of their plugins ready for CS5 yet, but you can use it in CS4 until the (free) CS5 update to the plugin comes.

    Zaxwerks 3D Flag (which Michael linked to) is a great choice.

    If you are using CS5, you could try Digieffects FreeForm (now bundled with CS5, available separately for older versions of AE). FreeForm is immensely powerful, but its controls will not be as intuitive for this specific effect as 3D Flag’s.

    A third option is Boris FX BCC Layer Deformer.
