Cloth tag & wind
Posted by Brad on June 2, 2005 at 6:19 pmI have a flag attached to a flag pole. I have the flag waving in the wind using the cloth tag and the wind settings inside the tag. The only problem is that the flag keeps separating and blowing away with the wind. How do I keep the flag attached to the flag pole but still have it be effected by the wind? Many thanks.

June 2, 2005 at 6:41 pmIn the Cloth tag:
– Go to the Dresser tab, drag the flagpole into the Belt On field.
– Go into Point mode, select the points of the flag mesh on the side that attaches to the flag pole.
– Next to Belt Points click “Set”. The points should turn “yellow” indicating that they are now acting as a “belt”, meaning they are attached to those points.
– Go to the Tag tab, and make sure Self Collision is turned on.
– Click on Empty Cache.
– Click on Calculate Cache. The simulation should now cache in, and play through. If you want to make any changes before rendering, be sure to click Empty Cache before starting your changes.

I had just finished adding a cape to an animated character right before I responded to the post, so I was probably influenced by that. 🙂

April 27, 2012 at 4:51 pmDo you know how In the Cloth tag works for C4D r13? The cloth tag and the Belt tag are seperate tags.

April 27, 2012 at 5:31 pmI have an object that I want to add material to but I also want to animate the object. C4d r13 has not belt control with in the cloth tag. The belt tag is seprate as is the cloth colider. When I set the points on the object in the Dresser, I am unable to animate it.
Can you help me?
