    Hello

    I am currently having a horrible time with using cloth in cinema 4D. I have never used it before and could do with some help.

    What I am trying to achieve is to have a logo in middle of the screen and to have a cloth slowly float down in front of it. I found out that you can’t move the cloth so I thought I would attach it with the belt tag to a pole and then lower the pole down.

    That just messes it all up and goes crazy as the points don’t follow the pole they spring to it messing up the cloth.

    I tried other options such as using wind to lower it down but it all seems to complicated for a simple effect.

    If anyone can help that would be great.

    Thanks

    Chris

    Why not let gravity drop the cloth down? Not sure what effect you’re going for.

    Hi,

    That would be great if I could work out how to move the bottom points of the plane to the top. I create a flat plane, turn it upwards, make the top points fix points but then cant move the bottom points.

    The effect I want is so the cloth is out of sight and then it drops down slowly as if someone is placing it infront of my object. If that makes sense.

    Cheers

    Yeah thats perfect!

    I should be able to edit that one but how did you manage to move the points up?

    Thanks for your help anyway.

    You have to either place the cloth object in position before you add the cloth tag, or if you want to move it after cloth has been applied:

    1. Uncheck “Cloth Engine” in the cloth tag’s “Tag” tab;

    2. Move the object;

    3. In the cloth tag’s “Dresser” tab, click the “Init. State” [initial state] button; and

    4. Recheck the “Cloth Engine” box in the “Tag” tab.

    You have to do it in that order. Otherwise you won’t be able to move the object, or it will snap back to it’s original position.
