cloth animation – Collider
Posted by Claudia Magnesa on August 10, 2009 at 8:44 amI have done an animation with cloth as a test. Why does the right arm go through the cloth, while the rest of the body collide proply with it?
I don’t know how to attach the c4d file but if you follow the below link you can see my same post with the file attached:

August 10, 2009 at 12:42 pmI have just tried to create a cube, made it editable and it works with the cloth, but as soon as I flipped it (changeing the scale to -1 in coordinates manager) the cube doesn’t collide with the cloth anymore, why? (the idea of flipping is because, looking at the file, the left arm collides with the cloth and the right arm doesn’t, so I though if I flip the left arm as right arm it might work, but it doesn’t, please help, I can’t understand why)
Thank you

August 10, 2009 at 11:24 pmCloth will only collide with polygons that have their normals facing out. Select your geometry, go to polygon mode, select all, and have a look at how your normals are aligned. Make sure they’re all facing out (yellow shading in the default layout, vs. blue for reversed normals). You may be able to fix the problem by running the “align normals” command.

August 12, 2009 at 9:50 amHi, thank for your reply.
I have tried everything (but I guess I am doing something wrong) and nothing it is working. Is there an example somewhere, so I can see almost step by step. I don’t think I am getting it.
Sorry I am really beginners, as you have noticed.Thank you

August 14, 2009 at 3:47 pmHi thank you very much for your reply. I think I have another problem. If you look at the image on this link (https://www.c4dportal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=24068#post24068), you can see the cloth collide with most of the object but there are couple of areas where I can see the pillow behind. Why? The image is from a render in picture viewer in that particular moment and if I create an animation preview I can see patches of the cloth doesn’t collide with the pillow. I checked the faces an they seem ok (I think). What do I do wrong?
Please help
