Closing Page Peel instead of opening page peel
Posted by Linda O’connell on January 25, 2009 at 8:55 pmInstead of making my “book” like it is opening with a standard page peel, I want it to look like it is closing at the end of my movie.
Any ideas? I don’t see any presets for it.

January 25, 2009 at 9:30 pmThanks, but I figured it out.
I took my picture/page peel transition/picture,
Rendered it as an MPEG. Imported it back into my project as a MPEG and reversed it.Sweet.

That was way too hard. Next time, right-click the transition and select Insert/Remove Envelope > Transition Envelope and then change the Transition Progress points to reverse them and it will reverse the transition.

January 25, 2009 at 10:40 pmI am always up for learning a quicker way.
I changed to “transition progress”, but where do I go to change to reverse the transition?I am not at all familiar with envelopes.

January 26, 2009 at 2:25 amThere will be an “S” curve of the transition envelope. Drag the bottom point on the left to the top and the top point on the right to the bottom. (so the “S” is backward) and the transition will play backward. You can also get it to stop in the middle, go half way and reverse, or any combination you can thing of.
I just tried it and it does not give the desired effect you are looking for because it actually shows the wrong video (sorry)

January 26, 2009 at 2:38 amIt sounds like you’ve followed John’s steps so you should see a curve that goes from bottom left to upper right.
There is a point at the extreme ends of this curve, exactly like what you’d see if you were working with Volume Envelopes.
If they’re difficult to see, try zooming in on the event and increase your track height.
Even then, you still might not see them so try this instead.
Move your mouse slowly around the bottom left of the event and you should have a window open up that says “Transition Progress at 00:00:03:00 is 0%”.
If you do this at the top right, it’ll say “Transition Progress at 00:00:03:00 is 100%”.
This is the “point” you want to grab and drag up or down.
Set the first one to the top left and the second one to the bottom right and your Page Peel will be reversed.
If you want to have some fun and see what envelopes can do, double-click the transition line to add more points, drag them to different heights and play it back to see what you’ve just created 🙂edit: John caught the fact that, unfortunately, this won’t work.
The rest of my comments about how to manipulate envelopes are still valid though and will, hopefully, get you thinking about using them.
