closing multiple sequences?
is there a way to close multiple sequences or close all open sequences without closing the project?

Yeah right or control click on each tab in the timeline and choose close. I don’t think you can do all of them at once.

The answer is no.
However, you don’t have to right click on all the open sequences. Choose the farmost right sequence and hit Control-W. Alot. A bit of a pain, but at least there’s a shortcut.
