Closing Custom Shape
Posted by Ra-ey Saleh on April 14, 2008 at 11:39 pmGuys,
How do you ‘close’ a Custom Shape in the Avid. Clicking on the first point doesn’t do it and I’ve searched the help.
Cheers in advance!

To close a custom shape you need to select that last point that you created and then click on the first point that you created. This closes the loop.
Cheers,
Peter.

Thanks for your reply!
However, I still can’t get it to close.
How do you select the last point and the first point?
If I try and use any of the modifier keys, it doesn’t work.
CONTROL, tries to zoom into the picture (standard Avid command); ALT deletes the last point (useful tip) and SHIFT does nothing.
Am I missing something really obvious?
Driving me crazy!Cheers,

Ok, after playing with this for another hour I finally got it to work!
However, the only way I could get the Shape to ‘close’ (by clicking on the first point, as you might expect) was to actually turn off my Video Track monitoring (so essentially all I could see was my Shape on black).
No matter how zoomed in I was, whenever I tried to replicate this over Video, the Shape would not close, period.
Don’t know if this is a bug, or whether it’s just me, but thought it was worth sharing!
I would have emailed Boris Support with this, but as they only ‘support’ for the first month after purchase I couldn’t…
