Simple question, does FCP 7 support in any way CC’s for UK and EU PAL broadcasts? Or is there a Mac software that does the job?

We deliver MPEG2 files to our broadcaster and the original files from the USA will have CC’s from 2014. The final masters will be delivered to us as ProRes files.

I have read that the UK/EU uses teletext systems for CC’s but I don’t fully understand how that relates to the video file.

    Thanks

Peruse the Telestream MacCaption website for more info. Teletext is not the same as EIA 608/708 closed captions. You will have to re-encode your original closed caption files from 29.97 to 25 fps, and then find an application like MacCaption to imbed the caption stream into the exported video master file. I don’t think this works like a tape export. What you may end up doing is accompanying the program source file with a .scc, .cap or other file.
