  Closed Captioning with Encore

  I see that .scc files are supported. Since closed captioning files are based on timecode, how is the original timecode preserved in a video asset? My understanding was that mpegs & AVIs don’t carry SMPTE timecode, so how are they synchronized?
  I have not yet tried to bring a CC file into Encore, but I was just curious about how this will work.
