I’m checking out the new feature in 5.5 that is supposed to display closed captioning when a .scc file is merged with the sequence.

But it seems to show the CC text on one frame only for each new line of CC text. Is this normal behavior?

Something’s probably wrong with your scc file. I’ve used the feature successfully. It behaves properly.

The thing is, I’ve tried a couple of different .scc files from different sources, and they both do the same thing. Wierd.

Could it be a drop frame/non drop frame issue? (A stab in the dark, but this mismatch recently caused compatability issues with Carbon Coder, which can be used to convert 608 (SD) captioning to 708 (HD).

There are many things to consider. One is that the timeline and the scc file must begin at 0. Another may be frame rate and drop frame.

Examine the scc file with a text editor to see whether everything looks ok.
