Closed Captionin into a Beta SP deck
I’m going to have to provide a Captioning solution to our ownership. Part of my problem (besides finding any vendors/production houses etc with lots of captioning experience) is that I have two Beta SP decks (UVW 1800s). I don’t think either is capable line 21 captioning unless the encoding can pass through an encoder straight onto the video input of the deck? or do I need a special line21 input for that? Because if I do, I have to find one that will…

Are you considering a “software only” program for CC? It is my understanding the 1800 will record line 21 info. However, don’t quote me on it. Use in conjucntion with an encoder it does, software only, that I don’t know for sure.

I believe this deck will pass line 21. We have a lowly UVW 1200 that does just fine. Look for an encoder with component video I/O..
