  Closed Caption Output – No Go

  I capture a closed captioned DigiBeta master at 1:1 resolution.
  Turn on Preserve VBI in the Video Output Tool.
  Upon playback from Avid, no captions appear on the video monitor with Line 1 or Line 2 decoding activated.
  Playing the DigiBeta master directly into the video monitor reveals the captions but once captured into Media Composer, no go.
  I can see the caption data changing at the top of the Composer window but it isn’t making it to the output. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

  System specs: Media Composer Adrenaline HD v3.0.5, 8-core 2.8 MacPro (early 2008), 4GB RAM, OS v10.5.5, QT v7.5.5, ATTO UL5D, Medea 1.6TB dual U320 RAID
