    Hello All,

I produced a 30 min infomercial for a client of mine and now that he is attempting to get it on TV they want it with closed captioning. I’ve embedded subtitles in a project with Vegas but not captions

This is an SD project and I have no idea how to get started – can someone please point me in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance,

    Christopher Key

    Hi Christopher,

Creating Closed Captions in Vegas Pro basically consists of using Command Markers with the new Close Captioning commands found only in Vegas Pro 10.0 and Vegas Pro 9.0e. Earlier versions of Vegas cannot create closed captions. You place these markers wherever you want a caption to appear. Then when you render, Vegas creates a .scc (Scenerist Closed Caption) file and you pass that on to the post house that is making your tapes for broadcast and they have the equipment to embed the closed captions in the tape.

If you are interested, send me an email via this forum or my web site. I’m working on something that might make this easier for you. 😉
