I cut some sequences using media off my portable drive. When I realized that i should copy the media over to my main hard drives, i knew that I’d have to reconnect the media, so I did and all the clips in the browser reconnected. But the related clips in my sequences did not reconnect and are still offline. I have not found a solution and have begun to reconnect the sequenced clips one by one. Anybody have an idea of what went wrong and an easier fix. Doesn’t make any sense to me that the clips in the sequences didn’t reconnect when the browser clips did.

    thanks

I recently had the same thing happen. The easiest solution I know of is the select all the clips in the timeline that are “offline” and then control-click (aka right-click) and then select Reconnect Media… It should bring up a list of all offline media you had selected. Then just click “Search” and FCP should find the missing pieces for you. If it doesn’t, then you’re looking for each individual clip again.

    I hope this helps.
