  • Clips not linking from timeline to browser

I have an HD project I’ve been working on between other projects and now when I do a search or “Shft F” on the timeline to find where a clip is located in the browser I get a message that “clip’s master clip is not present. Would you like to add a master clip to the Browser?” I have a few hundred clips in the browser, but I’ve never seen this problem before.

If I check the properties I can easily find the clip, but does anyone know why have they all of a sudden become unlinked between my timeline and browser? And of course how to fix it?

i’ve zapped “P ram” and trashed preferences with no change.

If you cut a clip from one project into the sequence that is located in ANOTHER project, that link is now broken. The only way to retain that link is to have the sequence in the same project as the footage.

I had this tip…separate project for sequences…on my tutorial DVD, and after I made that, I found this issue. GAH!

I don’t think that is the problem. The sequence is still in the same project. I may try copying the sequence to a new sequence and see if that helps. Basically I haven’t changed anything, knowingly from the last time I worked on this project.
