    Hi there
I recently shot on the PAL P2 in 720p, acquired a copy of P2Log and successfully loaded all of the footage into FCP 5.0.4. The thing that is troubling me is that when I sync up sound (recorded to DAT) with vision (most takes are approx 5 mins) they play back at different speeds. I match up the clapper mark perfectly and the dialogue at the start of the sequence matches up perfectly too. But when i play the dialogue at the end of the clip, it is out of sync by as much as half a second (sound coming in before vision).

I have converted all of the audio files from .wav format, to .aiff files but this has made no difference. Even rendering or altering the playback resolution does not alter the problem.

Is anyone able to shed some light on the subject at all? Thanks heaps!!

    cheers

What timecode setting was the DAT using? Was it a timecode DAT or something simpler.

I honestly don’t know. The soundie is a pro; I didn’t ask. What do you think I should check with him?

Give a look to the dat audio….probably it’s at 44Khz. It must be at 48Khz….so if this is the case, make a resample to 48
