  • Clips looks low res when droped in to a sequence

Posted by Yamir Bhatt on October 30, 2011 at 2:31 pm

So I am new to FCP. I have been working mostly in AE. I am trying to edit a small interview and the clips looks fine when i double click it. But once I bring it in a sequene and edit it, it looks low res. I looked in the RT setting and that is set to Highres in playback and frame rate, where else can I look to improve the clip quality?

Take a look at your sequence settings. The default video options may be DV for FCP and therefore it’s resizing the video to standard definition.

To add to the above comments, you can not judge the quality from your computer monitor.

Yes, I second that. Never use your computer monitor to color correct video footage. Always use HD-SDI or firewire out to a calibrated television monitor.

I think you forget one Brad – what happened to component out to a calibrated monitor?

To Start, set the canvas window at 100% and have a look again.
