Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Clips in viewer darker than should be

    It could somehow have something to do with FCPX thinking that REC709 clips are actually in REC2020 format, so the colours aren’t getting mapped properly.

    Have a look through your project settings and media metadata, it may possibly shed some light

    Well I’m having a similar, yet different problem also with this…

    I am filming with Sony A7III in HLG BT.2020 (Leeming LUT).

    The footage looks awful first, then when I apply the LUTs through the settings panel it’s fine in the viewer and in the timeline, but the browser and all the clips I’m watching from there, are very very dark…

    It’s very annoying because I want to preview clips before to put them in timeline, to select them. But everything that I look out of the timeline is very very dark, I have to drop them in and read it from there 🙁

    I’ve contacted Leeming about it, he says that he doesn’t have the same problem with Premiere, but he could reproduce the problem on FCPX and thinks that it’s from FCPX…

    Is there a way to fix it ?
