I’m getting a werid clipping issue with Quicktime Pro. When exporting stereo .aifs into mono .movs I occasionally get clipped audio in the exported files. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I’m pretty much out of ideas here.

Both files are 48khz, 16 bit.

    Thanks,

    Adam

You are taking stereo and turning it mono? You are basically doubling your stereo track which makes the overall level louder. It’s as if you took a stereo track and panned both sides to the right. The level of that now ‘mono’ track would be louder than the stereo track itself.

    Make sense?
