    I’m experiencing a weird problem.

I digitised in a few tapes from a Z7 camera – Down-converting HDV to DV PAL- using the capture now method to get the whole tape.

I’ve sine discovered, although this may not be related, that there are some drop-out/glitches/TC-breaks in the captured footage. Anyway, a couple of the clips end when I know there is more shot on the tape.

Sure enough, when I look at the files directly using QTPlayer all the footage is there. I’ve tried deleting the media from FCP and re-importing it but with no success – I still can’t see the rest of the clips. I can’t re-digitise as I don’t have a deck or camera to do this on. Can anyone suggest a way I can see and use the missing part of my tape in FCP? It’s frustrating as I know the footage is there – FCP just won’t show it.

    Thanks,

    James

    PS I’m using FCP 5.1.4

You can try running it through compressor.
