    [John Culleton] ” event pan/crop is just a frig…”

I use it all the time to resize my graphics and don’t have a problem with it.
If all your graphics are the same original size and you want to resize them the same, get the first one to the proper size, copy it, click and shift+click the rest of them, right-click and select “Paste Event Attributes”.
Please note that this will paste anything else (e.g. color correction) you may have done to the first one to the rest of them.

It’s a pan/crop tool tho, isn’t there a simple DVE where i can just drag the graphic to where i want it? and why do you have to move the workspace instead of the clip/graphic in pan/crop?

Pan/Crop is your DVE tool. Add keyframes and you can get it to do whatever you want it to do.

” and why do you have to move the workspace instead of the clip/graphic in pan/crop?”

You really are moving the clip/graphic. I know, it’s a strange way of doing things but that’s the Vegas paradigm 🙂

pan/crop isn’t a DVE Mike, is there a DVE or simple freeform resize for Vegas? sorry but the Vegas pan/crop makes no sense to me?

I choose not to look at it as “moving the workspace around”, but think of it as moving the “camera lense” over the scene. I zoom in and/or pan with the “camera”, which is represented by the bounded selection box. Once I had set that in my mind, I had no problem figuring how I wanted to approach a scene.

that’s what i call a frig Andrew, i find it irritating and slow, sorry…

i have a LOT of graphics that all need to be placed and it would be great if i could just resize them as i drag, same as pretty much every other graphic/titler app i’ve used

Andrew, that is a great way of looking at what Pan/Crop does!!

John, right from the very beginning, Vegas was unlike any other NLE on the market.
I used a dpsVelocity before Vegas and uttered more than a few choice words in the edit suite before I got my head wrapped around the way Vegas does things.
I use a lot of graphics and logos in my productions and have gotten used to having to resize them as needed.
It’s a bit of a PITA but that’s the way it is with Vegas.
